Galvanized 18 Gauge Sheet Metal is the most economical material  When painted with at least 3 millimeters of a polyurethane paint, galvanized sheet metal meets the stringent needs of most industrial applications, even in harsh costal environments.  As an alternative, stainless steel or aluminum materials for corrosive environments like sulfuric acid or hydrogen sulfide.  Heavier metal gauges are also available to withstand seismic conditions or provide blast resistance  In all cases, a painted finish will add years of life to any material selected, regardless of prevailing conditions.
